Girlguiding Dunbartonshire is piloting a new local uniform depot, designed to make it easier and more affordable for families to purchase uniforms, while directly supporting units in the area.
The pilot comes as Girlguiding launches its new uniform.
Through the new depot, Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger units can place bulk orders, eliminating delivery charges for families. Unit leaders can also place orders for badges and resources.
Helping unit funds
The initiative aims to provide a convenient service for parents and carers while generating additional income for units across Dunbartonshire. For every order placed through the depot, 10% of the total value will be returned to the participating unit, helping to fund activities, resources and opportunities for girls.
Lynne Gibbons, Dunbartonshire county commissioner, said: “We are delighted to pilot this new approach in Dunbartonshire. We know that families are looking for simple and cost-effective ways to purchase uniforms, particularly with the introduction of the new range. This depot not only makes ordering easier and saves on delivery charges for them, but it also provides an additional source of income for our units at no extra cost to parents and carers.”
Browse online first
Under the pilot scheme, families can browse items through the Girlguiding Scotland online shop before placing their order through their local unit.
Parents and carers interested in placing an order should go to the Girlguiding Scotland online shop to browse then let unit leaders what they would like to order.
