A much-loved Rainbows leader from Clydebank has retired after dedicating 44 years to Girlguiding.
Ann Tasker, pictured above, centre, began volunteering in 1982 and went on become leader of the 6th Clydebank Rainbows, a role she held from 1993 until her retirement this summer.
She was recently honoured by fellow volunteers at a social evening hosted by Clydebank North District. During the event, Ann was presented with flowers in recognition of her outstanding contribution to generations of girls.
Over more than four decades of service, she has dedicated countless hours to creating opportunities for girls to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and enjoy adventures through Guiding.
Karen Young, commissioner for the South Eastern division, said: “Ann’s contribution to Girlguiding has been truly remarkable. For 44 years she has given her time, energy and enthusiasm to helping girls thrive. Her commitment to 6th Clydebank Rainbows and the wider guiding community has made a lasting difference to so many young lives. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done and wish her all the very best for her retirement.”
