A concert promises to strike a chord with music lovers and raise much-needed funds for a worthy cause.

Dunbartonshire Wind Ensemble will perform a variety of music, including music from the movies, musicals and light wind band repertoire, at New Kilpatrick Church, Kirk Place, Bearsden, on Friday, 18 September.

All proceeds will go towards Girlguiding Dunbartonshire’s Catterburn campsite and its Brownie House, which was devastated by flooding in January 2023.

Doors will open at 6.45pm, with the concert beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £10, include tea and coffee, and there will also be a tombola.

Lynne Gibbons, county commissioner for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, said: “We are excited to bring an evening jam-packed with music to Bearsden’s New Kilpatrick Church.

“We hope to raise lots of money for Catterburn and ensure it continues to be a home-away-from-home for our members to enjoy new adventures and make lasting memories with their friends.”

Tickets are available to purchase from New Kilpatrick Church office, Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 2pm, or from Ticket Tailor.
