Awards joy for Bearsden Girl Guides

Members of 3rd Bearsden Girl Guides were honoured for their exceptional achievements during a recent awards ceremony.

A total of nine Guides received the Commonwealth Award, while four girls were presented with the prestigious Gold Award.

Commonwealth Award

The Commonwealth Award encourages Guides to learn about and celebrate the rich diversity of the Commonwealth. The Gold Award represents the pinnacle of a Guide’s journey, requiring them to complete all six theme awards, plus a challenge.

Unit Leader Victoria Beattie expressed her pride in the group. She said: “It’s such a joy to see the girls’ hard work and determination recognised in this way. The Commonwealth and Gold Awards are not easy to achieve, and these girls have shown incredible dedication, teamwork and resilience. We are so proud of them.”

Girlguiding opportunities

Victoria added: “Moments like this highlight the incredible opportunities Girlguiding offers. These awards are not just badges – they represent real achievements that will stay with the girls for life. I hope it inspires others to aim high and explore all that Guiding has to offer.”
