Margaret supports leaders who are doing their Going Away With qualification so they can take girls on residential events.  She recruits and allocates mentors, ensures that high standards are maintained and also keeps an overview of what residential events are taking place across the county.

Every time you take girls away for any length of overnight stay you must complete your REN form. 

To run your own residential event, someone in your event leadership team must hold, or be working towards, the relevant modules of the going away with scheme. They must be the person who completes the residential event notification (REN) form.

Once you have finalised your REN form with your local commissioner, they will then forward your REN, Risk Assessment and Activity Plan onto Margaret (our GAW lead) for information only.
