Girlguiding Dunbartonshire’s much-loved Brownie House rebuild has received a welcome fundraising boost.
The Mac Mic Foundation has generously donated £800 towards the works.
Catterburn Brownie House was hit by flooding in January 2023, and it has been out of use ever since.
Girlguiding Dunbartonshire is working plans to transform the building into a bigger and better Catterburn Outdoor Activity Centre.
Jenny Harvie-Miller, head of group communications and engagement at Mac Mic Group, visited 2nd A Bearsden Brownies, who meet in Boclair Church, to tell them all about the donation.
Creating ‘unforgettable memories’
Jenny said: “We’ve always been committed to supporting local communities, and we’re really proud to be contributing £800 to the redevelopment of the Catterburn Outdoor Activity Centre.
“After the devastating flood in January 2023 that damaged the original Brownie House, this new centre will be a fantastic way to continue the tradition of outdoor adventures for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire.
“We’re excited to see the venue transform into a modern, welcoming space where future generations of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers can make unforgettable memories.”

Lorna Hamilton, county commissioner for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, added: “We’re thrilled to have the support of the Mic Mac Foundation as we continue rebuilding Catterburn.
“Every donation is like another brick in the wall – helping us construct not just a new building, but a brighter future for our girls.
“This new centre will be a cornerstone for adventure, learning and friendship for generations to come.”
