Music lovers helped raise an impressive £2,500 at a special fundraising concert in Bearsden.

Dunbartonshire Wind Ensemble performed a varied programme of music, including songs from the movies and musicals alongside light wind band repertoire, at New Kilpatrick Church.

The concert was organised to raise funds for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire’s Catterburn campsite and its Brownie House, which was devastated by flooding in January 2023.

The evening also featured a tombola, with the money raised going towards the work to restore Catterburn and ensure it can once again provide a place where girls can enjoy adventures, learn new skills and make lasting memories.

Lynne Gibbons, county commissioner for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, said: “We were delighted with the response to the concert and incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and helped us raise £2,500 for Catterburn.

“A huge thank you goes to Dunbartonshire Wind Ensemble for providing such a fantastic evening of music, to New Kilpatrick Church for hosting us, and to everyone who bought tickets, took part in the tombola or supported the event in any way.

“Catterburn is a very special place for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, and every pound raised will help us enhance it for our members.”
