Girlguiding Dunbartonshire has received £5,000 from the Commonweal Fund for its Catterburn campsite.

The funding will be used to enhance the campsite’s Guide Hut, ensuring it can be used all year round so it remains a comfortable and accessible space for girls and young women across Dunbartonshire.

‘A special place’

County Commissioner Lynne Gibbons welcomed the funding, saying: “We are incredibly grateful to the Commonweal Fund for this generous support.

“Catterburn is a special place for so many of our members, offering them the chance to try new things, make lasting friendships and grow in confidence.

“This funding will help us maintain and improve the Guide Hut so that even more girls can benefit from everything Girlguiding has to offer.”

The Commonweal Fund is administered by the Trades House of Glasgow and provides grants to social improvement causes.
