Eastern Division covers the areas of Bearsden and Milngavie. It is the largest Division in the County of Dunbartonshire in terms of number of units, volunteers and young members. Eastern Division also has some of the oldest units in the County, two of which are 100 years old.
Eastern Division has eleven Rainbow Units, sixteen Brownie Units, nine Guide Units and five Senior Section Units. There are four Districts within Eastern Division.
The Districts are:
- Bearsden North which has two Rainbow Units, three Brownie Units, three Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
- Killermont which has two Rainbow Units, three Brownie Units, two Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
- Milngavie and Castlehill which has five Rainbow Units, eight Brownie Units, three Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
- Westerton which has two Rainbow Units, two Brownie Units, a Guide Unit and a Senior Section Unit.
Units are run by volunteers, led by volunteer Guiders and helped by Young Leaders and Unit Helpers. The Division is looking to “recruit” more adult volunteers to enable more girls to experience guiding.
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section all follow a wide and varied programme, both within the Unit meeting and on trips outside the meeting place.
Most of the girls experience residential opportunities often at the County Outdoor Centre, either indoors or camping. Many of the older girls experience travelling abroad with their Units.
