Central Division covers the towns and surrounding areas of Dumbarton, Cardross and The Vale of Leven situated on the edge of the Loch Lomond National Park. In it’s area are the historic Dumbarton Castle and the beautiful Loch Lomond. It is also home to Geilston Hall, the famous Denny tank museum, Lomond shores and the Sea Life centre at Balloch.
There are four Districts: Dumbarton East, Dumbarton West, Vale of Leven North and Vale of Leven South, which between them have two Senior Section Units, eight Guide Units, thirteen Brownie Units and nine Rainbow Units. There is currently no active Trefoil Guild and members currently go to neighbouring Helensburgh.
The Districts are:
- Dumbarton West, this includes Cardross. There are three Rainbow Units, three Brownie Units, two Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
- Dumbarton East which has two Rainbow Units, three Brownie Units, two Guide Units.
- Vale of Leven South which has two Rainbow Units, three Brownie Units, two Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
- Vale of Leven North which has two Rainbow Units, four Brownie Units, two Guide Units and a Senior Section Unit.
The Units are run by teams of volunteer Guiders, Young Leaders and adult helpers who provide a wide and varied programme of indoor and outdoor guiding activities including camps and holidays both at home and abroad. The girls in this area are always very successful in achieving awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh and Queens Guide. Most of all our members have great fun.
