Funding of the site relies entirely on fees paid by groups who use the facilities and donations, including fundraising. This may take the form of individual Units doing fundraising events and applying for grants from both national and local grantmaking bodies.
This challenge has been created to bring a bit of FUN to our FUNdraising aims. There are two parts to this challenge; the first part can be completed as a unit, patrol, pack, etc; and the second part is an individual fundraising challenge and award.
Adventure Oot ‘N’ Aboot Individual Challenge
As we look forward to getting out and about outdoors again, the Adventures Oot ‘N’ Aboot Individual Challenge provides fun activities for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Leaders and the Trefoil Guild to do easily and safely with very little equipment.
Other household and family members may also get involved as long as it is safe to do so depending on the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions.
There are 20 challenges to choose from across a number of topics, the majority of which can be done outdoors.
On completion of the appropriate number of challenges, participants will be presented with an Adventures Oot ‘N’ Aboot Certificate.
Kelvin Senior Section worked together to develop the Kelvin Division “Girls Can Do…at Christmas” challenge badge as part of their successful Christmas Concert they held. They are happy to share the challenge that the girls created.
Dunbartonshire Trefoil invite all units to take part in this fun challenge.
Although the final has now passed you can still encourage your unit to take part in this challenge – maybe at one of your weekly meetings? Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section can decorate a map of Scotland using fondant icing and other cake decorating equipment. Why not add some mountains, rivers, bridges, castles, animals and famous landmarks to your maps!
